Chow Chow puppies
are adorable pets known for their furry coats, heavy build,
stilted walk, and blue/black tongue. Chow
Chows come from Northern China and are normally good
with children and other household pets. They are normally
affectionate and loyal with family members but sometimes
reserved with strangers and stubborn. The Chow Chow
grows to between 17 and 20 inches in height and will weigh
between 45 and 70 pounds as an adult. Chow Chows can be
somewhat lazy so they need regular exercise, brushing and
bathing. Due to its heavy coat, the Chow Chow is not well
suited to warm, humid climates (outdoors). Chow
Chows need early socialization and training to avoid
behavioral problems as they grow older. The Chow is known
to suffer from eye and hip complications. The Chow
Chow was originally breeded as a hunting and working dog
but today makes for a good guard dog. The
following videos illustrate several examples of Chow
Chow puppies.
