Basset Hound
puppies have long, hanging ears and a long body but
are small dogs which even as adults only grow to
between 13 and 15 inches high. Due to dense bones they
still weigh between 40 and 60 pounds. Basset hounds have
a strong sense of smell, are good-natured and loyal
but are stubborn and a bit more difficult to train.
Basset hounds can be noisy, have ear, eye and back
problems, shed more than other short-haired dogs and require
more cleaning due to their low height. Despite their
small size, it is best for Bassett Hounds to have some
space for roaming. The following videos
illustrate several examples of Basset
Hound puppies.
